My work is inspired by life in all its manifestations: nature, people, cultures, landscapes, botany. I am filled with wonder and strive to understand and translate it into form, color, and dynamism. Movement and direction, simplicity and detail, converge in my work and create a unity. I search for my identity in a changing world. My work is created in watercolor, oil paint, pastel, ink, printing ink, acrylic, and mixed media. Visie:
In mijn werk zoek ik naar de verbinding tussen verleden en heden, binnen de context van het landschap, en de processen die die omgeving veranderen. Hoe verandert de aarde en wat is onze invloed?
Hoe geef ik dit visueel weer?
Ik werk graag buiten of in direct contact met de omgeving en vertaal mijn ervaringen van de plek naar nieuw werk.
Het resultaat hoeft niet altijd realistisch te zijn.
Het licht en het klimaat veranderen voortdurend.
Wat is de impact van de recente klimaatverandering op onze directe omgeving?
Hoe beïnvloedt het de microplantenwereld?
Thema's zijn: de macro- en de microwereld van planten, stenen en mossen, het plantenleven op de unieke locatie, het specifieke van de verschillende locaties op de wereld; licht; tijd, seizoenen, cyclische processen; groei en vernietiging, verval en wedergeboorte.
Ik wil het vastleggen in kleur, structuren, vorm en beweging.
